CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research is celebrating its 53rd Annual Day on November 01, 2018. Established in 1965 with the motto, "Safety to Environment and Health and Service to Industry", the Institute addresses problems critical to human health and environment. The Institute undertakes research in niche areas of toxicology, focusing upon industrial and environmental impact on human health and ecosystem. Pollution monitoring in air, water and soil is also a key function of the Institute. Being one of its kinds in India and among a few in the world, CSIR-IITR conducts studies to delineate mechanism of toxicity of chemicals, materials and safety assessment of products.

Following a progressive evolutionary path, the Institute constantly adapted to the changing scientific macrocosm. GLP Certification from NGCMA, Govt. of India, NABL accreditation and numerous publications in highly rated journals is testimony to the high quality scientific output of the Institute. CSIR-IITR also serves as an FSSAI-approved National Reference Laboratory for Food Toxicology and launched a new CSIR Mission-Mode Programme on Food and Consumer Safety Solutions (FOCUS) aimed at delivering technological solutions for food safety. The Institute is poised to make an impact in understanding the mode of action of new chemical entities, engineered nanomaterials and genetically modified products on living systems for safe use of new technologies and sustainable development.

As a part of CSIR-IITR's 53rd Annual Day Celebrations, the Institute is organising the 4th International Toxicology Conclave, ITC-2018 on November 02-03, 2018 with focus on the following niche areas in toxicology:

Several national and international experts from academia and industry along with many research scholars have confirmed their participation in the conclave.

Participation in this event will be a mutually rewarding experience and we sincerely look forward to hosting you in the historic city of Lucknow, known for its rich culture and heritage in addition to its scientific vibrancy.
