Current R&D/S&T Activities

  • Synthesis of molecularly imprinted polymer for the analysis of pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and xenobiotics etc in various matrices.
  • Analysis of analytes/bioanalytes in biological samples (plasma, blood, urine samples etc).
  • Study of changes in inflammatory mediator (Prostanoids) associated with xenobiotic toxicity

Molecular imprinting is technique for the creation of highly efficient synthetic molecular receptor that exhibited pre-determined selectivity towards target analyte. Now a day’s, MIPs used as artificial antibodies, catalysts, sensors, drug assay tools and chromatographic stationary phase. Here we are doing molecularly imprinted based analysis of environmental pollutants (herbicides, pesticides and fungicides and other toxic chemicals) in various matrices. Toxic organic pollutants, such as pesticide are ubiquitous contaminants in ecosystems. Most of contaminants are lipophilic and thus can be accumulated in higher trophic level organisms and transfer through the food chain to humans and finally induces harmful effects like inflammation. It is therefore critical for human health prospective and thus continues monitoring of residues level in samples collected from various part of ecosystem and in culinary items. simultaneously, monitoring of up and down regulation of pro-inflammatory mediators in numerous bio-matrices is required to know the toxicity of xenobiotics.
