Current R&D/S&T Activities

Our group is working on the development of detection method of microbial flora from the different food matrices and standardization of microbial safety of food. We are characterizing the microbial states in food, evolved as a threat to health and their non-detectability by traditional methods. We are also working on rhizospheric microbe to utilize them in bioremediation of toxic metals. We are characterizing microbes having capability of metal accumulation and biotransformation into less or non-toxic forms and having less leaching in environment. We are also characterizing the molecular mechanism of metal resistance in metal bio-accumulators.
